Detailed Itinerary

Day 1 :Marrakech => High Atlas Mountains => Ouarzazate => Agez

Your adventure begins at Marrakech airport or your Riad, where your driver will take you through the majestic High Atlas Mountains, reaching altitudes of over 2200 meters. Enjoy the stunning panoramic views of small Berber villages, rivers, and oases hidden within the mountains as you follow the historic caravan routes. You will visit Kasbah Telouet, once home to a wealthy family nearly as influential as the royal family of the time. Next, explore the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site that showcases 16th-century architecture and has attracted many filmmakers over the years. After a lunch break at the site, you will drive for about two hours to reach the village of Agdz, where you will spend the night, enjoy dinner, and savor warm mint tea.

Day 2 :Agdz => Kasbah Tamnougalt => Erg Chigaga Sahara Desert

After breakfast, we continue our journey towards Morocco’s largest palm oasis, following the Draa River, which stretches over 1100 km. You will visit Kasbah Tamnougalt, a former main caravan station from Timbuktu. Lunch will be at a traditional restaurant along the way. As we head further south, we’ll stop at Tamgroute village, the last place in the region where the pottery industry remains alive, thanks to seven ancient families. You will soon witness the vastness of the Sahara as we pass the last village on the road, Mhamid Elghizlane. After an hour and a half, we will reach the highest sand dunes in Morocco. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed and can enjoy a camel ride to witness a breathtaking sunset. In the evening, experience Berber music, a campfire, and traditional nomad tea.

Day 3 :Erg Chigaga Sahara Desert => Tazenakht =>Marrakech

Early mornings are ideal for meditation and witnessing a beautiful sunrise; we highly recommend finding a peaceful spot to embrace this experience. After breakfast, we will venture deep into the Sahara, passing by the dry Lake Iriqui, historically a resting place for migratory birds traveling from Africa to Europe. Our journey will continue to Tazenakht, known as the capital of Berber rugs and carpets, where we will have lunch. You will also visit a women’s cooperative to gain insight into the intricate craftsmanship behind these traditional textiles. By late afternoon, your driver will take you back through the High Atlas Mountains to your Riad or the airport.
