Your adventure begins at 9:00 AM when your driver meets you at your Riad. From there, you will embark on a southward journey, crossing the High Atlas Mountains, which serve as a natural divide, separating Morocco into two distinct regions. As you ascend to elevations exceeding 2200 meters, you will be treated to breathtaking panoramic views. You will then follow the ancient caravan route known as the Ounila Valley, renowned for its historic Kasbahs and 14th-century architecture. Lunch will be served at the famous Telouat Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. By late afternoon, you will pass through Ouarzazate, Morocco’s “Hollywood,” where numerous films such as Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and Lawrence of Arabia were produced. Dinner and overnight accommodations will be provided at a hotel in Ouarzazate.
After breakfast, the journey continues to Kalaat M’Gouna, renowned for its traditional Rose Festival. We will pause in a vast cedar forest to see and feed Barbary apes. Passing through Ifrane, we will approach Fes, the fourth imperial city of Morocco. Fes is renowned as the scientific and spiritual capital of the country, home to the oldest university in the world, established in 859 AD.
