Upon your arrival in Marrakech, you will be warmly greeted and transferred to your hotel. Spend the day at your leisure, exploring the vibrant souks and historic landmarks of Marrakech, including the Koutoubia Mosque and Jemaa el-Fnaa Square. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner to commence your cultural journey.

Day 2 :Marrakech Historical Tour with Local Guide

Embark on a touristic journey through Marrakech, a historical gem known as the Red City, the City of the Seven Holy Men, and Bahja among locals. Following breakfast, a seasoned local guide will navigate you through the ancient medina’s winding alleys, unveiling treasures such as the Bahia Palace, Medersa Ben Youssef, and the iconic Koutoubia Mosque. Immerse yourself in the vibrant tapestry of the old souks, experiencing local crafts and the lively ambiance of Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, where artisans and performers captivate with their talents. Enjoy lunch at a charming restaurant. As night falls, embrace the dynamic nightlife of the square, where pop-up eateries offer sizzling barbecues, aromatic soups, and refreshing juices, creating an unforgettable sensory experience.

Day 3 :Marrakech => Casabalnca

After breakfast, our Morocco tour will continue towards Casablanca, the capital of investment. Lunch will be enjoyed at a restaurant along the way. Upon arrival in Casablanca, you will be awed by the grandeur of the Hassan II Mosque, the second-largest functioning mosque in Africa and the 14th largest in the world. Finally, we will arrive at our hotel in Casablanca, where you can relax, with dinner served at the hotel.

Day 4 :Casablanca => Rabat => Chefchaouen

After breakfast, we will continue north to the imperial city and present-day capital of Rabat, a bustling city with a rich history. As we proceed further north, observe the landscape transition from flat plains and rolling hills to the rocky terrain of the Rif Mountains. Arriving in Chefchaouen, known as the “Blue City,” you will enjoy its narrow, winding streets and blue-washed buildings. Relish the relaxed atmosphere and friendly locals as you explore the compact medina along the northern hillside. Dine in Plaza Outa el Hammam and tour the kasbah (old fortification). As the day ends, visit the abandoned Spanish Mosque for a final view over Chefchaouen as the sun sets behind the mountains.

Day 5:Chefchaouen => Volubilis => Meknes => Fes

Today, we will depart for Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage site and an ancient Roman settlement. Here, you can admire the alleyways, gates, monuments, and mosaic floors. Dating from the 2nd and 3rd centuries, these Roman ruins are considered the best-preserved in Morocco. Our next stop will be Meknes, another UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the four Moroccan imperial cities. Meknes, founded by Moulay Ismail, is home to the first Arab dynasty in Morocco. Here, you can visit the Medersa Bou Inania and Bab Mansour, the gateway to Moulay Ismail’s palace. Later, we will continue to Fez, where you will check into your accommodation. In the afternoon, we recommend exploring the medina and the souks of Fez.

Day 6 :Fes Sightseeing and Guided Tour

Spend the day exploring the spiritual and scientific capital of Morocco with a local expert guide. Begin your journey in Fes, the first and oldest capital, at the Blue Gate, locally known as Bab Boujloud. Once through the gate, you’ll be transported back in time as you navigate the labyrinthine medieval medina, with its narrow alleys, bustling souks, traditional handcrafts, and the charming presence of mules and donkeys. Next, visit the Jewish quarter, Mellah, and admire the Royal Palace gate. Our driver will then take you to an ancient fortress on a hill, offering a panoramic view of the entire city. On your way back, explore the intricate 12th-century ceramic craftsmanship. Continue your stroll through the city’s highlights, including Souk Seffarine, Medersa Bou Inania, and the world’s oldest university, passing by the Mosque of Quaraouin. Conclude your tour with a restful return to your riad, where a traditional meal awaits.

Day 7 :Fes => Ifrane => Erfoud => Merzouga Sahara Desert (erg chebbi)

Depart from your accommodation in Fez early in the morning and set off for the south of Morocco. Your first stop will be in Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Morocco, where you can enjoy its beauty and take memorable photos. Next, head towards Azrou to see the monkeys in the cedar forest. Continue to Midelt for a lunch break before crossing the Tizi N’Talghamt pass to reach Errachidia while admiring the views of the Ziz Gorges. You will then stop for a panoramic view of the Ziz Valley.

The journey continues through Aoufous and Erfoud, eventually reaching the captivating dunes of Erg Chebbi, also known as the Merzouga Dunes. Upon arrival, prepare for a camel trek of about an hour to enjoy the sunset. Riding on the back of your dromedary, you will make your way to the desert camp for an overnight stay. Dinner will be served, followed by a spectacle of Saharan music. Spend the night in a tent amidst the dunes. Dinner and overnight in a tent.

Day 8 :Merzouga => Todra Gorge => Boumalne Dades

Rise early in the morning to witness the breathtaking sunrise atop a dune in the Sahara Desert, followed by a delightful breakfast. After savoring these beautiful moments, we will set off towards Tineghir, passing through Erfoud and Tinejdad. We will pause for a lunch break before continuing to Todra Gorges via Tineghir. Upon arrival at Todra Gorges, you will have the opportunity to marvel at its magnificent canyons while hiking. Later, we will drive to Boumaine du Dades, stopping along the way for a panoramic view of the Dades Valley. Upon arrival at the hotel, you will check in and later enjoy a delicious dinner. Dinner and overnight stay will be at a traditional hotel.

Day 9 :Boumalne Dades => Ouarzazate => Ait ben haddou => Marrakech

This morning, we will depart for Marrakech, with our first stop at the Rose Valley, renowned for its Damascene roses cultivated for cosmetic products like the prized rosewater. We will then proceed to the expansive Skoura palm grove, a stunning area with over 700,000 palm trees and numerous kasbahs scattered throughout. Our journey continues to Ouarzazate, known as “The Gate of the Desert,” which in Berber means “noiseless” or “without confusion.”

In Ouarzazate, we will visit the Taourirt Kasbah, one of Morocco’s most spectacular ksars, pausing for a panoramic view of the kasbah and a photo stop near the Atlas Film Studios. Our next destination is the fortified village of Aït Ben Haddou, where you will have time to explore the famous kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1986. This site has been the backdrop for famous films such as Gladiator, Obelix, and The Mummy.

We will then drive to Marrakech, traversing the High Atlas Mountains and crossing the Tizi N’Tichka pass at an altitude of 2,260 meters. Upon arrival in Marrakech, we will check in at the hotel or riad.

If you have the opportunity to book any Morocco Desert Tour, book this one and ask for Mokhtar by name! We were lucky enough to land him as our Guide-driver for a full five day tour and had the most incredible time. The accommodations were amazing, the food delicious, and the sights 100% worth seeing, however, I truly believe it is the people that stay with you forever. Sharing stories and drinks around the dinner table, or always being on the look out for the next coffee stop, our driver made this entire experience one I’ll never forget. I’m happy to have found a life-long friend in Mokhtar, and can’t wait to see him again one day!
