Itinerary
Day 1Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Boumalne Dades
Start with a traditional breakfast at your riad in Marrakech, then drive into the High Atlas Mountains where you'll climb over 2000 meters and get panoramic views from the peaks. Once you reach Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou (a UNESCO site), you'll have time to walk around and grab lunch there. After that, you'll pass through Ouarzazate, sometimes called the Hollywood of Morocco because of all the film productions, and continue on to Boumalne Dades. The rock formations here are called Monkey Toes and they're quite striking. By evening you'll have dinner and sleep at a traditional guesthouse in the area.

On the way you'll spot the Monkey Fingers rock formation and pass through oases where they grow dates, figs, peaches, and almonds. Stop for lunch at a traditional Moroccan restaurant along the route. You'll also see ancient irrigation systems and fossil sites that are over 200 million years old. Once you arrive in Merzouga, you'll board a camel caravan to the top of the dunes to watch the sunset, then return for dinner, a campfire, and traditional Moroccan music under the stars.

Day 4Merzouga – Draa valley – Agdz – Marrakech
Watch the desert sunrise first thing, then have a traditional Berber breakfast. Your driver picks you up from camp to start the return journey to Marrakech, passing through small villages and seeing panoramic views along the way. You'll follow the Draa River, which is Morocco's longest and really important for desert life and nomadic tribes. The landscape changes as you pass through palm tree-lined areas to Agdz, a historic town that used to be a crossroads for caravans heading to Timbuktu. After a short break there, you'll climb back through the High Atlas Mountains and pass through Ouarzazate again before arriving back in Marrakech by evening.
